The Heartbreakers Blog Tour Day 1

In a paragraph or two:
1. Tell us about your most romantic experience (either as an adult or as a teenager).
I’ve been with my husband for close to twenty years so there have been plenty of memorable romantic experiences but my most favorite is after the birth of our first child. Both exhausted after two days of hard labor that got pretty complicated, we were finally left alone in the hospital to just lie there holding our baby. It was like the world stopped.

2. Which literary character embodies true romance to you?
There are so many but being a Long Island native I am going to say Jay Gatsby. He built his entire world around winning back a girl.

1. Tell us about your most romantic experience (either as an adult or as a teenager).
The most romantic thing that’s happened to me was when my husband proposed. On Valentines Day. He had this big elaborate plan, where he cooked a romantic dinner. It was a fondue and in the middle of it, he lit the table cloth on fire. Then the meat wouldn’t cook and I got kind of bored of waiting. (Not knowing he was planning on asking me to marry him and give me a ring at the end of the meal) He was so upset about the meal being bad, and I was telling him it was no big deal we could stir fry it, and then all of the sudden he got this look on his face like he was going to throw up and he dropped to his knee and pulled out a beautiful diamond ring. I started to cry and laugh at him at the same time, because it was so cute how hard he’d tried, and it was the effort that doubly won me over. Plus the humor of him lighting the table on fire, because I’m always up for things that keep it real!

2. Which literary character embodies true romance to you?
Wow, that’s a tough one. I think my first absolute YA character crush was Marcus from Sloppy Firsts. The Jessica Darling series is an older one, but I highly recommend you pick it up and read it if you haven’t. Marcus is the bad boy turned yummy, hot boy you always wanted to date in high school. (Okay maybe that was me).
