Heart of the Highland Wolf by Terry Spear

Heart of the Highland Wolf:
Ian McNeill, laird of Argent Castle finds his capital squandered through unwise investments and the wolf clan's home that has been theirs for centuries is in danger of being forfeit for nonpayment of taxes. When a movie producer contacts him with the notion of using his castle to produce a movie, Ian abhors the idea, but it's his only salvation. Even worse, his people become extras in this epic Highland movie. But when one American werewolf romance author, Julia Wildthorn, slips into the castle under the guise of being with the movie company, except she is trying to jump-start her muse with writing a book set in old-world Scotland--specifically about his castle and his people as the characters in her newest book venture--she and Ian tangle.

I love Terry Spear's lupus garous, every time a new book in this series is released, I simply cannot resist it! Her men are pure alpha males and her heroines are just as independent and strong. The characters in this one were not disappointing in the least. The sexual tension runs rampant throughout the first half of this book, and then a lot of hot and steamy bedroom scenes follow. I usually love Terry's pursual of romance, but felt that a lot of this book occurred within the bedroom, and although I truly enjoyed the relationship between Julia and Ian, to me there was little romance between them and just a lot of sexual encounters.

Julia Wildthorn is a red lupus garou and a romance writer who writes about werewolves. She has traveled to Scotland on two missions; the hope of relieving her writer's block, and to retrieve a family heirloom left behind centuries ago in Argent Castle. Little does she know that the current laird, Ian MacNeill, is also a lupus garou, and this puts a wrench in her plans to search the castle. The heirloom contains a contract between the clans, when Julia's people were the rightful owners of Argent Castle. Danger surrounds Julia, someone else knows that she is searching for something, and he believes he has the right to claim Julia for himself. Only once she is caught within the castle by laird MacNeill, he claims her for himself. Their attraction for one another leads to a whirlwind romance and they soon become mates. But their enemy will not be thwarted and tricks Ian into leaving Julia alone and vulnerable, with only herself and a ghost to protect her.
