Linger by Maggie Stiefvater

Linger:
In Shiver, Grace and Sam found each other. Now, in Linger, they must fight to be together. For Grace, this means defying her parents and keeping a very dangerous secret about her own well-being. For Sam, this means grappling with his werewolf past . . . and figuring out a way to survive into the future. Add into the mix a new wolf named Cole, whose own past has the potential to destroy the whole pack. And Isabel, who already lost her brother to the wolves . . . and is nonetheless drawn to Cole.

At turns harrowing and euphoric, Linger is a spellbinding love story that explores both sides of love—the light and the dark, the warm and the cold—in a way you will never forget.

In the second Wolves of Mercy Falls book by Maggie Sitefvater, the story it told through four voices; Grace, Sam, Isabel and Cole. Cole is a child prodigy running away from life and any responsibility of the destruction he left behind. By turning to drugs and dangerous lifestyle choices he wants nothing more than to lose himself in the wolf where he has no memory of his human life as a broken man. Isabel is grieving for the loss of her brother and her anger at herself, for the guilt she feels for being responsible for his death, is what she tries project to those around her. But Cole can see through the angry shell and seeing Isabel's guilt makes him question his own actions in his past. Grace is finding it hard to live with the sudden constraints of her parents..."Roommates or parents, you can't be both." I found this to be her best argument with her parents, for years they have ignored her and she has taken care of herself (her dad even left her locked in a sweltering car). Now suddenly they are attacking her relationship with Sam. Sam is struggling to believe that he has been cured and every cold draft has him shuddering with fear, but he's still human and with each burst of cold, feels more confident.
When Grace becomes sick both she and Sam are in denial about what is happening to her and as she becomes more ill, they must face the fact that she is slowly dying. The only way to save her is a cure Cole thinks is the solution, and it leaves them questioning everything they thought they knew about the werewolves.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish, I loved the insight we gained into each character as we saw the world through each different point of view, I have to honestly say that I loved Shiver more because there was more closure to the storyline and Linger leaves you questioning the entire book.
